These terms govern your use of PhD Sky at phdsky.org. The service is operated by Eli Eydlin (“PhD Sky”, “I”, or “me”). By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
About the service
PhD Sky is a free, independent, non-commercial discovery tool. It collects academic position announcements from public sources and lets people browse, filter, save searches, follow topics or accounts, and request weekly email alerts. It has no sales, paid listings, advertising, or recruitment services.
PhD Sky is not an employer, university, recruiter, or agent for any listing and is not involved in applications or hiring.
Listings and automated classification
- Listings come from third parties and may be incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, expired, changed, fraudulent, or incorrectly classified.
- Software, including language models, may classify public listing text by subject, country, and position type. Automated labels are aids, not endorsements or verification.
- The linked original source is authoritative. Confirm deadlines, eligibility, funding, identity, and application instructions with the institution before acting.
Accounts and weekly alerts
You are responsible for the accuracy of account information you provide, for safeguarding your credentials, and for activity under your account. Do not use another person’s account or interfere with another person’s data.
Saving a search enables weekly email delivery to your account address. You can edit or delete saved searches from Subscriptions in the profile menu. Each email provides an unsubscribe link.
Acceptable use
You must not use PhD Sky to:
- break the law, infringe rights, deceive, harass, or impersonate others;
- probe, disrupt, overload, bypass security, or gain unauthorised access;
- harvest personal contact information for unsolicited messages; or
- operate an abusive automated client or republish the collected corpus as your own service without permission.
Normal personal browsing, ordinary search-engine indexing, and use permitted by applicable law are not prohibited.
Content and intellectual property
The PhD Sky software and original site materials are governed by the licences and notices in the project repository. Third-party listing text, names, handles, and linked materials remain the responsibility of their authors or rights holders. PhD Sky does not claim ownership of them or make a categorical claim that every use is “fair use”.
If you are the author or rights holder of a listing and want it corrected or removed, email eli.eydlin@gmail.com with enough information to identify it.
Third-party services
PhD Sky links to and depends on third-party services, including listing sources, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, and optional sign-in or analytics providers. Their availability, content, and practices are outside my control and their own terms may apply.
No warranties
The service is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, no warranty is made about accuracy, availability, security, fitness for a purpose, non-infringement, or the existence or availability of any position. Nothing in these terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Eli Eydlin is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, or decisions based on a listing or third-party service. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct, or another mandatory rule.
Changes or suspension
The service may be changed, suspended, or discontinued, and access may be restricted to protect users, comply with law, or address abuse. Material terms changes will be posted here with a new update date and will apply prospectively.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without prejudice to mandatory protections that apply where you live. Disputes are subject to the competent courts in Israel unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
